More About Myself

by Tara Lang Chapman

I was born in the Roman month of September in the Roman year of 1982 (26 years as of May 2009) and grew up in a central Arkansas farming and fishing community.  I'm now married to a wonderful friend, lover, and provider for over eight years; have two awesome boys, (06/03 & 05/07); awaiting the resurrections of two other children, one of whom died as an infant, and am expecting a new blessing in the fall of 2009.   I live in the SW Missouri Ozarks and love it! It's beautiful and less contaminated here, and there are two natural food markets within an hour's drive and many health-conscious people.

I published my first book in 2008. It's called Genetic Heavy Metal Toxicity.  It can be purchased in paperback, but it can be read free of charge in the book section on my website www.coghealth.net.

I practice good health, although I'm always trying to make improvements.  I breast feed my children exclusively or  nearly exclusively for one year and then continue to nurse them beyond (so far 2 years, 9 months and then 1 year 10 months were weaning ages). I feed my family almost a 100% organic diet. In our household we do not eat anything with artificial ingredients (flavors, colors, sweeteners, preservatives). Everything is all-natural. We eat absolutely NO GM/GE products. We avoid pesticided foods, as well as animal products with antibiotics and hormones. We do NOT eat anything biblically unclean of both meats and plants (pork, rabbit, lobster, shark, mushrooms, seaweed, lichens, etc.). We do not eat blood or visible meat fat or gravy made with fat. We eat only whole grains and whole natural sweeteners. I even grind my own grain, especially wheat berries to make fresh whole wheat flour. I then make my own bread, tortillas, muffins, biscuits, etc. I make nearly everything from scratch.

I home educate my children with an emphasis on biblical learning. The bible gives the supreme law. It teaches a lot about history (mostly the Middle East and Europe). It gives wisdom. It gives us the promises of eternal life and the inheritance of a Kingdom, if we have faith in Jesus' death and resurrection to cleanse us from sin, and if we repent and follow His way. There are many other things it teaches. It's the main teaching tool I use to help my older son read. He's learning to read now, and it's so exciting! I also use the Internet for resources, and we do a lot of hands-on things. We have fun, and we learn! Yes, I learn, too! :) I’ve learned that much of what I learned in the public school system, growing up, were lies, half-truths, and very lacking. This is especially true concerning history and many sciences. I am a truth-seeker!

My husband owns his own business, and he loves it! We have debt-free goals and goals of sustainable living. We practice grain storage, and we’re about to institute water storage. We raise chickens for both eggs and meat, and we may get a milk cow in the future, and we definitely plan to get a donkey. We also plan to get turkeys. We have 18 acres, mostly wooded. My husband hunts deer for meat in the winter. We also like to grow some of our own food.

I try to be very conservative. We recycle our paper, plastic, metal, and glass, as well as anything else we can. We reuse ragged old clothing for cleaning. I don’t use artificial lighting during the day (who’d want to?), and I try not to waste water. I take my own hemp grocery bags to stores. I try to be very earth-friendly, though I am NOT an earth-worshiper. I worship the Creator, not the creation. I am a huge cannabis hemp fan (yes, that’s the same as marijuana). We use a lot of hemp products, including food and shampoo. I believe it’s the best fiber, food, oil, and medicine there is. I fully support re-legalization, as many of the world’s problems could be cleared up (use of dangerous pharmaceutical drugs, deforestation, soil erosion, global warming, oil-drilling, etc.). I use cloth diapers for my babies and have since my firstborn was 4 months of age (he used the potty from the age of 2 months and started going by himself at 17 months) and cloth pads for my cycles. I’m always looking for ways to be more natural and earth-friendly.

I love to read and write, and I love to be outside. I love flowers, birds, and butterflies. I love studying and teaching God's Law, studying both physical and spiritual genetics and all other branches of biology, good health, and etymology and names.  I love my friends, and I love my family. Most of all, I love my Heavenly Father and my Heavenly Brother, and I love my brothers and sisters in my spiritual family, too. :)

So there it is!  More about me.
